Training & fun at the Wits 2019 Induction

The Wits 2019 Induction took place 1 – 3 March in Modimolle, Limpopo. The induction took place in a very beautiful camp called Effata, which had a pool and an open space which allowed students to socialise and interact. The first day of the induction was an opportunity for students to have fun, build & strengthen their friendships.

Training Day

The 2nd day was all about learning. There were sessions to reflect on who you are, as well as how this reflects on the Moshal Scholarship Program as a brand. A key highlight of this was the ability to design our own logo and brand.

Other training sessions included critical thinking, study tips and presentation skills. The 1st and 2nd years had future careers training, introducing them to what they will be doing as seniors and preparing them for the working world. Seniors spent time with the Alumni doing CV preps, mock interviews and discussing the challenges of the working world.

Competition time

A big highlight of the weekend was the potjie competition in the evening. Students were divided into 6 teams in a quest to cook the ultimate Potjie.

Sunday morning an awards ceremony was held where students who had achieved academically were honoured. The awards were an inspiration and motivation to work hard so that you can be recognised too.

There was also team building, sexual reproductive health training, PERLS awards and a business game for the seniors. The induction ended with a motivational talk from Ntokozo.
