UFS scholars chat to us about their academic year & the 2018 Annual Event

Moshal Scholars studying at the University of the Free State, took the time to answer some questions for us, surrounding their academic year, as well as the 2018 Annual Event:

Lerato Mokuena (MBCHB)

What were your expectations for the current academic year?

My main expectation was to perform exceptionally well. The first half of the year did not live up to my expectations, but I am still determined to keep working hard in order to achieve my goals.

What stood out for you during the Annual Event?

The medical panel, which opened my eyes to the various fields in medicine and encouraged me to persevere through the struggles and tough times. The panel increased my dreams and vision depth beyond this degree, in addition it ignited a desire in me to one day be one of the super-specialists who present at the panel.

Anything you learnt from other scholars during the event?

I learned that we are all going through a lot and that we need to be grateful that we have the support of the scholarship whereas some people don’t have any support what so ever.

What value do you feel you brought to the group dynamics of the event?

“Respect”
